Scraps to Soil - Professional Development
Empower your team with composting skills and bring sustainability to life at your centre or school.
Scraps to Soil workshops provide educators with hands-on training in composting and worm farming, helping you turn kitchen, garden and lunchbox food scraps into rich food for your centre or school gardens.
You’ll learn everything you need to know about starting and maintaining a compost bin or worm farm, including set-up, management, troubleshooting, and how to make the most of your compost. It’s a great way to upskill your team and foster sustainable practices at your centre.
How to book a session
Each session must be hosted by a centre or school that invites staff from at least one other school or preschool, with a minimum of 10 educators attending. MidWaste supplies an experienced facilitator and can provide free composting equipment if needed, though you are welcome to use your existing setup. Sessions can be booked out of hours if needed, doing our best to coordinate dates that work best for you.
