A free term-long food waste education program for your class or sustainability club, with support to get your whole school and parent community involved.

The Lunch Makers program will empower students to be more involved in preparing and making their own lunch, discovering how to reduce leftovers or food waste in the process. We’ll also provide done-for-you templates to get your whole school and parent community involved, maximising your efforts and impact!

  • Launch incursion, delivered by a Midwaste facilitator, within the first 3 weeks of your chosen term
  • Teacher resource guide to help you lead the program:
    • 8 weeks of classroom content, including food waste and healthy eating education activities
    • Step-by-step guide for running a food waste photo audit
    • Additional resources and lesson plans
    • Tips on running a ‘Make Your Own Lunch’ day with your students
    • Done-for-you newsletter content, emails, social media tiles and app posts to help you engage your parent and carer community
  • BONUS Composting workshop to celebrate program completion
    • You can use this for your student group or staff professional development
    • Free composting equipment available (if needed)
