This National Recycling Week we put a spotlight on 'Repair'!
This year’s theme for Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week, “what goes around comes around,” reminds us of the importance of rethinking waste and keeping our products in use for longer. Before throwing something away, could we reuse, repair, repurpose, regift or recycle?
Locally, we’re celebrating the week through the theme of “repair”. We have a host of events, including free workshops, pop up stalls, waste tours and the launch of our new Repair Directory! We’ll be out and about in our community to share and ask for ideas around how we can turn waste back into a resource through reuse, repurpose, repair or regifting – helping us to send less to landfill and reduce the amount of natural resources we’re taking from the environment.
NEW - Repair Directory!
Most of us have an item or two at home that is torn, broken or not working properly. Often it’s a case of not know where or how to fix it.
In an effort to connect community to our skilled repair professionals, we have built a local online tool – a Repair Directory!
Together with local repair businesses we have put together a listing of places you can go to enquire and/or get your broken items fixed!

As a part of our National Recycling Week events and activities, we’re offering free repair workshops across a range of skills!

Pop up stalls
To make Repair more visible and promote our new repair Directory, the waste education team will be out and about across our region keen to have a chat about waste, recycling and repair! If you see us when you visiting any of the location below, come over and say hello. We’d love to share what we have on offer and discuss any waste question you may have too!
